Should developers impose hard limits on lengths of strings?
Yesterday struggled good part of the day to work around some issues where we needed long labels in GAMS. Looking back I think that in general systems should not impose such limits if at all possible. Any such limit is rather artificial anyway, and there are always cases where they become a problem.
